After phase one and phase two of the Marylebone Hotel had completed, we began work on the third phase of works; the Cocktail Bar.
In order to get the bar open in time for Christmas, our programme was condensed and to maximise usability for the hotel, we worked on a phased handover process with the first section of the Cocktail bar handing over in just 4 weeks.
Works involved hoarding off two of the three reception lounges and stripping these rooms right back to the shell. We then set about making good the substrates, installing new wall panelling throughout, setting parquet panels into the existing marble floor and installing new joinery units. After the first phase of works had completed, we handed back a reception lounge and took control of the third lounge. We then stripped this out and then completed the cocktail bar, summer room and winter lounges complete with another working fireplace.
We handed back the entire space before Christmas which allowed the hotel to enjoy their new cocktail bar during one of London’s busiest periods.
Working with du Boulay has been a pleasant experience and one which we would happily repeat. The standard of craftmanship and site management has been impressive and noticeable from early on in the process. This left us confident that du Boulay would be able to handle anything that arose and would do so to a high standard.
