Franco’s, established in 1945 and one of London’s oldest Italian restaurants, underwent a significant refurbishment transforming the restaurant’s interiors, introducing elegant woods and wallpapers to create a modern yet timeless ambiance

Project Delivery:
The refurbishment encompassed updates to the dining room, entrance, and reception areas. The design incorporated natural and sophisticated wood, complemented by wall coverings and neutral pale walls. Décor elements drew inspiration from succulent plants, rustic woods, and warm, autumnal shades, providing a backdrop that harmoniously matched the Italian classics served at Franco’s.

Design Highlights:
The restaurant’s redesign features walls adorned with palm-print wallpaper evoking the Italian Riviera, interspersed with portraits of previous patrons, nodding to its storied past. The transformation replaced former stuffy interiors with a fresh and inviting atmosphere, enhancing the overall dining experience.

Challenges and Achievements:
Updating a historic establishment like Franco’s required balancing the preservation of its rich heritage with the introduction of contemporary design elements. The successful refurbishment not only honored the restaurant’s legacy but also revitalized its ambiance, ensuring its continued appeal to both long-standing patrons and new visitors.
