Du Boulay Projects undertook the comprehensive interior fit-out of Fortnum & Mason’s store within the historic Royal Exchange in London. The project involved transforming the space into a luxurious retail destination that reflects the brand’s heritage while integrating contemporary design elements.
Project Delivery:
The fit-out process required careful planning and execution to preserve the building’s historic character while introducing modern fixtures and finishes. The scope included bespoke joinery, high-quality ambient and refrigerated display units, and elegant lighting solutions, all tailored to showcase Fortnum & Mason’s premium products.
The scheme consisted of three spaces including the full retail space, the island cocktail bar within the atrium and the back of house satellite kitchen which feeds the cocktail bar.
Design Highlights:
The store’s design harmoniously blends classic and modern elements, featuring custom joinery, marble surfaces, and brass accents. The layout provides an inviting and sophisticated shopping experience, aligning with Fortnum & Mason’s esteemed reputation.
Challenges and Achievements:
Working within a listed building presented challenges in integrating new installations without compromising structural integrity. Du Boulay Projects successfully navigated these constraints, delivering a space that honors the site’s history while meeting contemporary retail standards.
