Du Boulay Projects undertook the interior fit-out of Arros QD, a Spanish Mediterranean restaurant located in London’s Fitzrovia district. The project involved creating a vibrant dining environment that showcases authentic Spanish cuisine, particularly paella and wood-fired dishes, within a thoughtfully designed two-floor interior.
Project Delivery:
The fit-out process encompassed the transformation of the space to reflect the vision of Spanish interior designer Lázaro Rosa-Violán. The design features open fires, a six-meter wood fire stove, and a glazed wine cellar, providing a spectacular visual backdrop for guests. The main dining room offers immersive, theatrical seating around the open kitchen, while the upper floor provides an exclusive dining experience with private rooms.
Design Highlights:
The restaurant’s interiors combine contemporary elegance with authentic Spanish charm, featuring a tasteful mix of glass, ethnic art pieces, and traditional tapestry-style rugs. The color palette reflects the warmth of the wood-fired cooking central to the dining experience, creating a cozy and welcoming atmosphere.
Challenges and Achievements:
Transforming the space to accommodate the restaurant’s unique culinary focus required meticulous planning and execution. The integration of open fires and a substantial wood fire stove necessitated careful consideration of safety and functionality. The successful completion of the project resulted in a dining venue that not only meets operational needs but also offers guests an immersive and authentic Spanish dining experience.
