Du Boulay Projects undertook the redevelopment of The Palladio, a former commercial property located on Southampton Street in Covent Garden, London. The project involved converting the building into eight luxury apartments & one penthouse, thoughtfully designed to offer modern living spaces while preserving the building’s historic charm.

Project Delivery:
The redevelopment process included reimagining the building’s layouts to optimize space and functionality. Collaborating with Studio PDP, the project team improved the design, circulation, and appearance of the listed building, adding a roof extension and terrace for the penthouse apartment.

Design Highlights:
The apartments feature spacious open-plan layouts, with expansive windows overlooking Covent Garden’s Piazza, allowing natural light to flood the interiors. High-end finishes, such as marble herringbone floors and gold leaf mirror frames in the bathrooms, bespoke joinery in the bedrooms, and state-of-the-art Gaggenau appliances in the kitchens, reflect a classic yet contemporary style.

Challenges and Achievements:
Transforming a commercial building into luxury residential apartments required meticulous planning to preserve its historic character while introducing modern amenities. The successful completion of The Palladio has provided residents with elegant living spaces in the heart of Covent Garden, surrounded by boutique stores, renowned restaurants, and theatres, enhancing the vibrancy of the area.
