Du Boulay Projects transformed Hawksmoor Wood Wharf, a floating pavilion in Canary Wharf’s Wood Wharf district, into a luxurious dining destination.

The 14-week project involved creating a three-level space featuring a double-height dining area, a marble-topped bar, private dining rooms, and an outdoor terrace, all inspired by the glamour of early 20th-century travel

The scope encompassed a comprehensive fit-out of the 150-cover restaurant, including the installation of bespoke joinery, luxurious leather banquettes, and a marble-topped bar. The design incorporated salvaged items, antique mirrors, and green marble accents, creating an opulent atmosphere. A standout feature is the outdoor terrace, offering guests a unique dining experience with waterside views.

Designed by Macaulay Sinclair, the interiors draw inspiration from the golden age of travel, featuring floor-to-ceiling glass walls that showcase stunning views. The design integrates elements such as salvaged items, antique mirrors, and green marble, contributing to the restaurant’s unique character. The private dining area, named after local legend Queenie Watts, offers an intimate setting for groups of up to 20.

Delivering a fit out upon a floating pavilion presented unique challenges, including ensuring structural integrity and making sure everything remained level. Du Boulay Projects successfully navigated these complexities, delivering a distinctive and luxurious dining experience that complements the dynamic waterfront setting of Canary Wharf.
